    Education

    Beachwood prides itself on being a well-educated city. Over half the population has at least a Bachelor’s Degree. About 65 percent of people in the city hold employment in executive or professional positions. Beachwood has some of the best schools in the Cleveland area. Beachwood High School rates as one of the best in Ohio.

    Over 90 percent of the graduating classes go on to attend college. Students in all five of the city’s public school score well above average on annual standardized testing. Beachwood also has a number of higher education options.

    Case Western Reserve University, the University of Akron, Kent State University, John Carroll University and Cleveland State University are within a few minutes driving distance of Beachwood. Cuyahoga Community College is located just outside of the city.

    Recreation

    Beachwood has a variety of recreational activities available for families. The Family Aquatic Center offers swimming, waterslides and instructional swimming classes. Beachwood has a city park with 1.6 miles of trails great for running, walking, skating or bicycling.

    There is a sledding hill on the south end of the park. The sledding hill provides a fun winter activity for all ages. The city provides summer camps every year for children and teenagers. The camps include theater themes, traveling themes and sports themes.

    Beachwood is in close proximity to several other neighborhoods and the city of Cleveland. There are countless activities for families to enjoy in the surrounding areas. Cleveland’s Playhouse Square is the area’s premier performing arts facility.

    The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is also close by. The Great Lakes Science Center and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum are fun attractions for residents of any age. Citizens can also enjoy a day of shopping at Beachwood Place. This upscale shopping mall is home to over 120 stores and restaurants.

    Neighborhoods

    Beachwood’s suburban neighborhoods are quaint and well-manicured. Most residences are single-family homes with ample yard space and tree lined streets. A low crime rate and good education system makes this area ideal for raising a family. Residents do not have to travel far to enjoy the amenities of this suburb. Excellent shopping, dining and recreation options makes Beachwood is one of the best neighborhoods in the Cleveland metro area.
