Eastlake, Ohio is a small quiet community and a peaceful place to live, especially for families looking for a place to settle down. With a population of approximately 18,000 people, the community is tight knit and supportive of everyone. This is most likely why the crime rate is very low.

The Community
Eastlake has a very generous and friendly community. This community is known for banning together and helping each other out. For new residents the current residents have a tradition of offering a welcome basket to assure that the new residents feel right at home.
This is also a community known for its Boulevard of 500 Flags. This is a monument dedicated to honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
It has two beams from the Trade Center and granite pieces from the lobby. The five hundred flags are to represent the local veterans.
In addition, the community has ten local groups that residents can join to meet people and ban together to help the community.
These groups include the Eastlake Women’s Club which meets once a month to exchange ideas on how to help improve the community, Cub Scouts Pack 83, the boy scouts unit for Eastlake, and Chagrin River Salmon Association, a fishing group that promotes conservation, fishing, and sportsmanship in Eastlake.
Parks & Recreation
Eastlake has sixteen parks scattered throughout the city. These parks include basketball courts, ball fields, disc golf nine hole, tennis courts, skateboard park, soccer fields, and fishing.
Residents also visit the parks for views of the beautiful sunset and bird watching. The parks also are known for their sports leagues such as Eastlake Girls Softball , Youth Football League, Eastlake Soccer League, and Eastlake Baseball League.
Eastlake Schools
Eastlake shares its school district with Willoughby. It has an enrollment of about 9000 students throughout its schools. There are three elementary schools (Longefellow, Thomas Jefferson, and Washington), two middle schools, (Eastlake Middle School and Willowick Middle), and Eastlake’s North High School.
The school district was rated by the Ohio Department of Education as excellent for six years in a roll, making it a great place for children to learn and expand their young minds. There is also the Bryant and Stratton College for students pursuing a higher education.
