Community Events

Downtown Painesville is a prime example of a community striving to provide for its residents. The Gazebo in Veterans Park provides a venue for many Summer concerts, a weekly Farmers market, or Art in the Park festival. Anchoring downtown activities, attend one of the many special events or just relax and have a family picnic on a sunny Northeast Ohio afternoon.

Outdoor Activities

The Grand River runs through town offering a peaceful canoe ride or kayaking workout. Improved walking paths and biking routes make getting around town easier and safer while making your way between various downtown shops and restaurants. Enjoy golfing at numerous area golf courses including Painesville Country Club and Black Brook Golf Course. The Lake is not forgotten with charter and fishing services waiting to put a breeze in your hair or bend that fishing rod.

The winter provides plenty of snow for recreation as well. There are cross country skiing venues and area downhill ski resorts not far away. Cuddle in a warm room at a local bed and breakfast including the Historic Riders 1812 Inn.

If action is more your “speed”, Make a trip to the Lake County Speedway. It is a short drive to catch the Cleveland Browns, Indians, or Cavaliers also. You can participate in local hometown sports and activities or attend Pro sports, or National Museums and theaters.

Schools

Education is important to the folks of Painesville. There are preschools to Thomas W Harvey High School and the Lake Erie College. The College is a Division II school. The Jack Britt Stadium on the Campus is home to various community activities and sporting events for the College as well as the High School football team.

Playing in such a facility as a high school player is a privilege indeed. There is great community pride in the public school system. Morley Library continues to provide area residents a priceless opportunity to have an American institution, a public library, in their community. The 112-year history of aiding in education, reading, and entertainment is a source of public pride as well.

Business Infrastructure 

There are several manufacturing companies in the area. Businesses producing goods from Inks and pigments used in cosmetics, to adhesives , tapes, and pressure sensitive film, to STP and Armor All products. These and other companies provide a wide range of employment opportunities.
