Parks and Recreation Centers

Parks and recreation areas are important to an area. They can give residents somewhere to go and something to do to keep them from doing things that break the law. It is a proven fact that parks and recreational facilities in an area help to reduce crime. In the Twinsburg area, there is the Twinsburg Water Park, Twinsburg Fitness Center, Stone House, Sugarbush Trail, Meadow Trail, a dog park, and a community theatre.

The Community Center offers Arts Camp, Mad Science Camp, Theatre Camp, Magic Camp, and Regular Camp along with Morning and Afternoon Recreation Camp. There is also a Senior Center and a Visitor Park available to visit.

Education, community service, media occupations, arts, legal, healthcare practitioners, technical occupations, natural resources, maintenance, and construction occupations make up, collectively, around thirty percent of the jobs.

The unemployment rate is lower than half the state and nations average. Some of the employers include the Ohio Arts Council, Ohio Kids, Ohio Governor’s Youth Art5 Exhibition, FirstGov for Kids, National Terrorism Advisory System, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio School for the Deaf, Department of Veterans Affairs, the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Schools of Twinsburg, Ohio

The Twinsburg City School District is made up of five schools including, Wilcox Primary, serving students up to first grade, Bissel Elementary School, serving second grade through third grade, Dodge Intermediate School, for students in grades four through six, R. B. Chamberlin Middle School, encompassing seventh and eighth grade, and Twinsburg High School, serving grades nine through twelve.

For the 2010 and 2011 school year, the schools received the “Excellent with Distinction” rating due to scores on state testing. In the area is also the Twinsburg campus of Kent State Geauga serving those who have completed regular school. The area is considered suburban and is located twenty miles southeast of the greater Cleveland area and twenty miles to the northeast of Akron.
